Following rumours of Navjot Singh Sidhu quitting The Kapil Sharma Show, producer Preeti Simoes (K9) has come out to quash the reports. She is the brains behind K9 Productions, the banner that produces the popular show.
Preeti issued a statement rubbishing media murmurs that suggested that Sidhu was exiting the show to concentrate on his political career.
She said, "There's no notice served by Navjot Sidhu to Sony Entertainment Television. A reaction on this issue is unnecessary. All propaganda that he's leaving is false."
The gossip mills went on an overdrive, when Sidhu Paaji's wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu told a leading news site, “Sidhu will now completely focus on Punjab politics. And that is why he has recorded all the shows till 30th September and has already said goodbye to the cast.”
The site further added that the reason for his decision was due to his need to concentrate on the upcoming Punjab elections.
His banter with host Kapil Sharma, along with his special poetry for Bollywood's leading ladies made the show rather popular.
The former cricketer allegedly charged over Rs 25 crore per year for his appearance on the comedy show.
