A reality show singer, Puneet Anand, has been arrested by a team of north west district police for allegedly stealing Rs 80 lakhs, a leading news site has reported.
Puneet, who apparently participated in a singing reality show in 2009, admitted to stealing the whopping amount from two employees of a rice trader, the site added.
The accused lived with his parents and was supposedly absconding after stealing the money, the site reported further.
According to the news site, the other accused arrested in the case are: Ajit, Ashu and Mukesh and Puneet’s friends Susheel and Monty.
According to another portal, Puneet was a college drop-out who’s rumoured to have wanted to be a singer.
