Sanjay Upadhyay wears the ‘director’s cap once again

Sanjay Upadhyay, former Head of Fiction Sony Entertainment Television,has gone back to where his heart is – to the creative aspect of television. The former Sony head will now be calling the shots at Ratna Sinha’s production house, Chota Ganpati. He will direct a show for them for Zee TV. The show is a story of two girls -- one rich and other poor. Sanjay, in the past, has directed Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye and Saaya on Sony. The story apparently is about how the two girls after marriage get switched over to each other’s husbands in the course of an accident. Upadhyay said, “This was a commitment I had made to Ratna Sinha, producer of the show. Also, this is a concept that has touched my heart. The show talks about pertinent issues.” Talking about the transformation from being a fiction head to directing a show, he says, “I am mentally prepared for the change. I will be able to give an honest opinion once I start with the new responsibility.” Well, once a director, always a director.
