Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt. Ltd as we know, planned to recreate ‘<a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/rohit-khurana-play-beast-shashi-sumeet-mittals-next-sony>Beauty and the Beast</a>’ for Sony Entertainment Television. Just today (12 September 2012), we came up with a story that this untitled show will in all probability replace <em><a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/byaah-hamari-bahu-ka-end-18-october>Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka</a></em> (Hats off Productions).

Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt. Ltd as we know, planned to recreate ‘Beauty and the Beast’ for Sony Entertainment Television. Just today (12 September 2012), we came up with a story that this untitled show will in all probability replace Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka (Hats off Productions).
The show was to have Sargun Mehta playing the beauty while Rohit Khurana was roped in to play the beast. However, there has been a new development in terms of the concept of the show.
A little birdie has confided in us that the channel is in fact reworking on the plot, especially with respect to the look of the female protagonist. If sources are to be believed, the channel is trying to recreate the Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin magic by bringing in a female lead who will not be a good-looker. So this only means that Sargun Mehta, who was to play the lead, will not fit the bill.
In accordance with our news, we decided to talk to Sargun to know whether she continues to be part of the show. And Sargun categorically told us, “I am not doing the Shashi-Sumeet Productions show for Sony. I was part of the show from May 2012, but it got delayed. It was supposed to air in October. There were also some complications as certain changes were made to the script. Hence, we amicably agreed that I will not be a part of the project. I am disappointed to the extent that I lost some good projects in the meantime.”
We tried to get in touch with producer Sumeet Mittal to know about the script change but we could not get through to him.
We also sent a message across to Vivek Bahl, Chief Creative Director, Sony Entertainment Television but did not get a reply from him till the time of filing this story.
Let’s wait and watch to know more on the conceptual changes made in the show. We will come up with more updates!!!
