MUMBAI: Yesterday, January 19, actor Yogesh Mahajan, who currently plays the role of Shukracharya, the guru of Daityas, Asuras, and Danavas in the television series "Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav," died of a sudden cardiac arrest, according to reports. Yogesh had previously appeared in TV series such as Adaalat, Jai Shri Krishna, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, and Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev, among others.

His family shared an official statement;
Yogesh’s co-star Akangsha Rawat revealed, “He was such a lively person with a great sense of humour. We have been shooting together for more than a year. At the moment, we are all shocked.”
The actor gained popularity for his roles in Marathi films such as Samsarachi Maya and Mumbaiche Shahane.

Yogesh is survived by his wife and 7 year old son.
