MUMBAI: Colors Gujarati launched a new presentation titled ‘United States Of Gujarat’ which will follow Kay (Sana Shaikh) on a heartfelt journey to discover her roots, reuniting her mother Yamuna (Ami Trivedi) and Baa (Ragini Shah). This family drama explores various dynamics, blending tradition with emotion.

In an exclusive conversation with Raj, we spoke to him about his experience shooting for the show and his character.
Raj shared, “My character is colourful and vibrant. I am like the Ranveer Singh of Gujarat in the show. Infact, I take my inspiration also from him and his films such as Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani where he plays Rocky Randhawa.
Talking about my co-actors, there are a lot of veteran and masterclass actors who are a part of the show in the likes of Ragini Shah and Apara Mehta among others. I feel fortunate to share screen space with such experienced and professional actors.”
Having been a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which has been one of the longest running shows on Indian television and now doing a full-fledged Gujarati show, Raj shared, “My role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was quite different and he was in his teenage. While Tapu is young blood, my character in this show is quite matured and the audience will get to see something quite different from what they have seen me. Infact, it is a new experience for me too and hence I am quite excited. I wanted to see something different on my graph and wanted to have a different experience , so I am happy.”
