MUMBAI: Colors’ Barrister Babu, produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions stars Aurra Bhatnagar and Pravisht Mishra as Bondita and Anirrudh respectively.
The show started off with an attempt to give a perspective on women empowerment and how Anirudh fights society for his wife Bondita’s education and helps make her a barrister. Well, the story has been loved so far and the audience is in awe of Bonita’s innocence and the naïve nature that she brings on the screen. Her chemistry with Anirudh is also quite different from what we see on television.
However, off late, the story seems to be losing its plot. Barrister Babu has apparently become just another daily soap for the viewers and though it is still entertaining, the audience misses the unique factor of the show.
Priya Banerjee, a consultant of an IT firm shares, “Shashi Sumeet Productions are back with some inspirational and social concept and I find the concept and the story to be fantastic. However, the essence with which the show kicked off is missing and the focus is more on the characters than the storyline. They are showing exactly the situations which would be faced in real life but somehow, the concept is not being given much attention too. The social drama’s message that it attempted to give is without motive making it just another saga.”
Siddharth Thakkar, a clothing store owner says, “It’s an absolute delight to watch a show like this after a very long time. Barrister Babu has a good storyline, artists and an amazing screenplay. Kudos to Colors for presenting something which is unique, beautiful, meaningful, worth watching and gives a strong message to the society. Brilliant acting skills by a girl who is so young.”
Harshita Vadhan, a CA by profession admits, “Every show has such an amazing start but then becomes a run of the mill project. I thought Barrister Babu was something unique but then here we are, back to watching something unique which is becoming a regular soap. I have loved watching the show so far and I hope the makers bring back the essence of the show how it started off. I personally had so many takeaways from the show but now, the storyline is getting weak and the focus is more on making it an entertainer than keeping it unique.“
Disha Thakkar, a call centre employee opines, “I do not think so. Barrister Babu is the best! It is not like some useless drama which has no message for the society and is all about romance, family members' fighting and foolish revenge. This story set during British India smoothly portrays how India was in the 1915's.”
Rachna Patel, a housewife avers, “Barrister Babu has raised our expectations by presenting a drama which is out of ordinary. I only hope to see better episodes which convey social messages along with an entertaining track.”
