Sanjay Dutt's temporary release from jail has not exactly pleased the Maharashtra government.
The Minister of State for Home, Ram Shinde has reportedly ordered a probe to be carried to find if furlough granted to Sanjay has flouted any jail norms. The Minister has also announced that strict action would be taken against officers if it is proved that Sanjay was granted any out-of-turn furlough. The DIG of Prisons has been asked to conduct the probe.
Said Shinde, "Rules and regulations apply equally to everyone and a celebrity cannot be above the law. We will inquire if Dutt was granted furlough out-of-turn. The decision to grant furlough to Duty was taken at a junior level."
Sanjay who is serving a five-year jail term for possessing and destroying sophisticated guns before the 1993 bomb blasts has till now spent 118 days out-of-prison, on furlough and parole.
Currently, the actor is out on a 14-day leave and was spotted at a special screening of PK.
