MUMBAI: Akanksha Puri - who spent most of last year sparring with ex-boyfriend Paras Chhabra - says that she is in a happier space today.
Akanksha, who is enjoying some days off with family in her hometown Indore, said that the lockdown gave her some much-needed time with her family to recover from the negativity of the past. “It has been a tough time for me since last September, but the lockdown has been a blessing for me in terms of moving on from the past, and rebuilding the existing relationships with my family," she says, adding, "My work used to demand 12 hours a day and, in the midst of all that, I had to also deal with a personal life crisis. Of course, I wouldn’t have pulled through all of this without support from everyone. So, I’ve learnt to look at things positively, ki achcha hua kuch cheezein zyada buri hone se pehle hi khatam ho gayi.”

Quashing rumours about her entering the Bigg Boss house for season 14 this year, the actress shares, “I haven’t received a call till date for the show, which begins in September first week. So no, I’m not entering the reality show this year, but will definitely take it up if an offer comes through.” She also adds that she is grateful to the show for all the revelations with regard to her relationship with Paras. “Somewhere, I’m grateful to the show that I got to know of the things that would have probably come to light later. I was definitely in the wrong space, so I could get away from all the issues immediately.”
Today, the actress says she loves her life and herself more. She adds, “I am more grateful for those who stuck with me through these times. After three long years, I’m able to give myself more time and focus on my happiness. If I would have kept thinking ki, 'Oh God, yeh kya ho gaya mere saath', I wouldn’t have been able to overcome the issues.”
Having said that, she feels that the relationship was not just about bad times, since if it had been that bad, it wouldn't have lasted three years. “I don’t have any regrets or hatred anymore. I’m happy for Paras, and that he has moved on, and is happy wherever he is. Even though we ended abruptly, we haven’t spoken, texted or exchanged any communication so far. Both of us have moved on, and none of us want to talk and discuss all this because it was dragged way too much for anyone’s comfort,” she says.
