MUMBAI: Nitin Babu has become a household name for his role Sagar in Star Plus' popular drama series Anupamaa.
The show had taken a 6 months leap a few months ago and it was introduced with new characters to take the storyline forward.
We all saw how Anupama lived in Asha Bhavan with the other people and Sagar was always there with her.
As the makers now gear up for another generation leap, we will get to see new actors stepping in.
Nitin's journey was short-lived but fans have hailed him for his performance as Sagar.
Also, his on-screen pairing with Sonal Khilwani did wonders.
As the star cast is now about to make an exit, TellyChakkar got in touch with Nitin who spoke about being a part of this show and much more.

Anupamaa is a popular show and every actor who has been a part of it has tasted success. How are you handling this fame when the viewers recognize you as Sagar?
I have done theatre before coming to Mumbai. I have really worked hard on my craft and had a dream of coming to Mumbai and doing acting and people will love my work. I am really grateful to Rajan sir and Star Plus who made me an important part of such a big show like Anupamaa. I have whole-heartedly lived Sagar's character. And wherever I go, people recognise me and meet me with so much love. Honestly, I get very emotional seeing everyone's love and I feel very proud that my dream is fulfilled. When people appreciate my work, I feel very peaceful. However, the journey has just begun and I have to do lots of work and learn a lot.
You have maximum scenes with your co-star Sonal Khilwani. How is your bond with her? You both are the new favourite on-screen jodi for the viewers.
Sonal who plays Meenu's role in the show is shown to be extremely loving, caring and sweet and she is the same in real life as well. We didn't talk much on the first day of the shoot. But eventually, we became such good friends. There is no topic I can think of that we haven't spoken about. There are many common things between us like cooking, we are very spiritual, we are extremely serious about our work. So, I would say that Sonal is an extremely talented actor and an equally good human being. We are extremely supportive to each other for the scenes that's why our scenes come out really well. Fans are really loving us and they refer to us as #Sanu. We are grateful for the love of the audience.
The viewers have praised your delightful camaraderie with Rupali in the show. Tell us about your experience.
Rupali ma'am is going to be my Anudi for life. She is a gem of a person. And the way I love and respect my mother, I love and respect Rupali ma'am in the same way. She is extremely down-to-earth inspite of having such a kind of stardom. She makes you feel very comfortable so that you don't feel any pressure. My experience with my Rupali ma'am has been very amazing. Be it my first day at the shoot when she came to me and spoke so nicely to me, I got really comfortable. I respect her a lot and I love her a lot.
