Rajeev Nigam in Jay Hind

Two days back, we had reported on Jay Hind, India’s first TV show for the internet that will be hosted by actor Sumeet Raghvan. Well, Raghvan isn’t the only attraction of the show. Jai Hind will also see valuable contribution from the noted stand-up comedian Rajeev Nigam. The concept of the show is similar to that of Movers & Shakers. However, thus far there are no guests on the show. For those uninitiated, Nigam was among the writers of Movers & Shakers and played a crucial part in the success of Shekhar Suman, a fact even acknowledged by Suman himself. Speaking about his role on Jay Hind, Nigam said, “In addition to writing, I’ll also have a small segment of my own. I’m playing a common man and that’s how I’ll be addressed. The beauty of this show is that like Movers & Shakers, Jay Hind too will speak of contemporary issues.” The choice of Sumeet as the host is bewildering since the actor has never done stand-up comedy. Will he stand-up to the challenge? “Initially, even I was surprised with the choice of host. I too wondered how he’ll fare. However, Sumeet has proven me wrong. He’s really good. After Shekhar Suman if anyone can do such a show then its Sumeet. In fact, I wouldn’t hesitate in saying that Sumeet’s got more potential,” replied Nigam.
