Tellychakkar in conversation with Kishori Shahane AKA Bhavani of Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein

MUMBAI: Tellychakkar loves to treat its avid readers with stories about the lives of most loved celebrities. We love to give you an insight into Tellywood.

We are back with an EXCLUSIVE interview with veteran actor Kishori Shahane whose role in the serial Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein is garnering appreciation as matriarch Bhavani Chavan.

Being an alumnus of Mithibai College, the actress was also crowned Miss Mithibai at the college known as the cultural hub of Mumbai. She entered into Marathi films and shot to fame with Maherchi Sadi and Wajva Re Wajva. Her impeccable performances in plays like Moruchi Maushi (Marathi) and Aadhe Adhure (Hindi), directed by Amal Allana bought her recognition as an actress. Her characters in Bollywood movies like Pyaar Mein Twist and Red: The Dark Side directed by Vikram Bhatt put forward her ability to be a versatile actress. Kishori Sahane also went on to produce and direct a Marathi film Mohatyachi Renuka which won the Maharashtra State Award 2007 for the best editing.

We start by asking her about her journey in the industry, she says '' Since a very young age I was actively involved in classical and folk dance. Before I realized I found this deep love for acting and theatre infact, I started getting film offers by the age of 16 but my family always gave importance to my education, and so I completed my bachelor's in commerce. I have also done critically acclaimed Marathi plays like Shuturmurg and  Moruchi Maushi. I did my first Hindi film Bomb Blast in 1993 with Ronit Roy.''

Further talking about her journey'' While working in the TV industry I have realized that the content on TV reaches every household more than any other medium. I feel extremely blessed that I have been able to make a long-lasting impression on people with my performances. My husband Deepak Balraj has recently directed a short film on the government's initiative of bringing forth Indian-made products, the film is titled 'Made in India' and we want it to reach to the masses. I, as a person, have always been up to something creative all my life, and I feel this is how I want to see myself 20 years down the line.

We ask her to shed light on her character in Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein, she reveals '' The character of Bhavani Chavan is of a strong-minded woman, she manages the whole house and lives life on her terms. I really enjoy playing her character as I have always loved to portray strong and decisive women. The whole cast of the show works together as a family. I really like the energy and maturity Neil Bhatt puts up in his work. I get overwhelmed seeing such excellent shots being done by the young actors in our show''.

The actress signs off by thanking her fans for the love they are showering on Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein and promises that lots of twists and turns are coming up in the show, with a possible love triangle too!

Well, we really wish to enjoy some edge of the seat scenes in the coming episodes.
