Deepak Sandhu all set to play his first-ever cop role in Life OK’s Shapath

Actor Deepak Sandhu, well-known for his role in Colors’ Parichay always wanted to get out of the stereotypical saas-bahu sagas and try out a different genre of work. And now, his wait is finally over, as he will be seen essaying the role of a cop in Life OK’s Shapath. Yesterday, Tellychakkar.com wrote about Deepak Sandhu and Vedita Singh entering the show in the month of November. Talking about his role, Deepak said, “I essay the role of the cop Karunesh. The man will be fun-loving, jovial and a jolly good guy when he is off duty. The minute he would be put on a mission, he would have a role reversal and would get into the serious, rough and tough attitude to nab criminals. This is a genre I always wanted to experiment with, and I am glad to have got this opportunity.” On his first role of a cop, the actor stated, “I have never portrayed a cop before, and I wanted to try it out simply because I love the cop’s uniform a lot. I always dreamt of wearing the uniform on-screen at least once, and my dream has come true.” Deepak who was recently seen playing Krystle’s ex-boyfriend in Ekk Nayi Pehchaan was tired of performing the mundane roles on TV. “The saas-bahu sagas were taking a toll on me, and I wanted a change for myself. That was when I auditioned for Fireworks Productions’ upcoming Star Plus show, and that is when my transformation began.” Explaining this in detail, Deepak averred, “I gave many a mock shoots for Fireworks’ cop-based show for Star, and this happened over a period of nearly three months. And that is when I started working on my body to get into a perfect shape. However, the Star show did not work out, and that is when Fireworks offered me this role of the cop in their Life OK show, Shapath.” “I now look fit and sleek, and many would not even recognize me. I had to give myself a change in order to fit into the new genre. In the show, I will sport short hair and a clean shaven look. Fireworks is a very good team to work with, and I am having a whale of a time shooting with them.” Deepak, we wish you all the luck for this new avatar!!
