MUMBAI: Aniruddh Dave, who is elated with National Award win for his Haryanvi film “Chhoriyan Chhoron Se Kam Nahi Hoti”, says theatre has been his learning ground since his growing up years and expressed his gratitude to the art form for making him the actor that he is today.
During his schooling days, the actor got inspired and motivated to be on stage after he went to the theatre to watch plays.
“I never felt stage fright because during school days I was very active and a topper of cultural activity. Since the age of five I am performing on stage,” he adds.
The actor, who was last seen playing in “Patiala Babes”, says theatre will always remain close to his heart as that has been his learning ground.
“Theatre will always be special for me and I have learned a lot from it. When I came to Mumbai due to dates issues I couldn’t do more plays. We don’t get time to rehearse so that’s the reason I missed it.

I would like to be part of theatre always and whenever I will get an opportunity I will try and do it,” he says, adding, he regularly sets out to watch theatre from past 12 years.
Anirudh, who has started his career from theatre, observes professionalism and discipline is the foremost important thing in theatre.
“Working with full dedication in theatre is not easy,” he states.
He thinks the theatre scenario is evolving in India gradually with several plays travelling overseas.
“Theatre is growing in India slowly and getting commercialised as good and big plays are coming up and some are even going overseas. Anupam Kher, Rakesh Bedi are doing plays on international level. Also, there is Paresh Rawal, Satish Kaushik who are doing amazing work in theatre,” he says.
He further adds theatre artists feel encouraged only when the audience appreciates and applauds their performance.
The actor, who has dabbled in TV and films, believes in terms of performance there is a difference between all the three mediums – films, TV and theatre.
“Acting is acting but the difference between three medium TV, films and theatre performance wise is different. The technicalities, form of enactment is different, also this depends upon the character and designing of a play.
Like proscenium (the stage of an ancient Greek or Roman theater) theatre is different, has its own style or pattern, commercial and street play is different. Similarly, on TV and films things are different. Acting is same but the pattern of acting form is different of all three mediums,” he adds.
